Baked apples
I used reinette apples. These apples look ugly, but its taste is delicious and they´re perfect to bake.
Ingredients:
6 Reinette apples
12 Tablespoons of wine of Porto
6 Tablespoons of brown sugar or honey
If you don´t have wine of Porto, you can use rum or brandy or cognac or any sweet wine you have or like . Don´t worry about alcohol, it will evaporate with the heat of the oven.
Remove cores to 1/2 inch of the bottom with an apple corer or a knife. Place the apples in a ovenproof dish. Stuff them with 2 tablespoons of wine and 1 tablespoon of brown sugar per apple.
Bake them in a preheat oven 150ºC/ 300F.
It can be served with some custard, yogurt or ice cream but I prefer it as is
I love baked apples and yours look wonderful!
